BBBEE

ICAS Southern Africa is committed to black economic empowerment (BEE), which it regards as both a national and business imperative. This is not simply a philosophical or theoretical endorsement. It is the cornerstone of our business strategy and it is a pragmatic growth strategy that aims to realise the company's full economic potential. Our business subscribes to the BEE Act and scorecard, which guide the company's transformation strategy, as systems to measure and monitor BEE performance. Expenditure in the key areas of BEE procurement, skills and enterprise development and corporate social investment has increased over the years. The principal challenge, in view of the national skills shortage at top levels, is to improve representation at senior and executive management level.

The principles underpinning ICAS's Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment strategy are as follows:

  • The BEE solution implemented is broad-based and inclusive;
  • All BEE initiatives are measured in order to determine the achievement of BEE strategy objectives. Measurability encompasses both quantitative and qualitative factors;
  • Information relating to BEE is simple, factual and reliable for ease & accuracy of measurement;
  • Broad-based BEE is implemented at ICAS with the objective of maintaining a minimum compliance of BEE Level 4.
  • No form of BEE fronting will be accepted as it will be detrimental to the ICAS' long-term growth and is demeaning to the individuals involved;
  • The application will be performance based and focused and must enhance our business effectiveness without compromising our standards of quality.

Our current BBBEE rating is as follows:

BBE Status: Level Two Contributor
Beneficiary Category: B
BBE Procurement Recognition Level: 125%
